As we enter into mid-Autumn here in Brisbane this Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, there is not a great variety of blooms in the garden, but there is still plenty of colour. We are once again very much 'in the pink', courtesy of a new dahlia and those fabulous troopers, the cosmos.

Love the pink of the cosmos with the slightly blue-toned foliage of aloe and Yucca 'Purple Royale' |

Here is a better shot of the Yucca 'Purple Royale' (back right) with Tradescantia pallida or Purple Heart in the front. |

I can't believe I still have a daylily blooming. |

Here's the slightly chewed cosmos with variegated alstomeria and white ixora |

One of the bromeliads on the driveway is out. |

This little dahlia was bought last year as one in a punnet of seedlings. |

Finally, one of the orchids is in bloom. This is an Oncidium. |
There will be lots more to see over at
May Dreams Gardens where Carol hosts Garden Bloggers Bloom Day on the 15th of each month.
Beautiful orchid Marisa and I love the dahlias. I've never grown them but should. You garden must look great with all the pinks.
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying the dahlias, Ros. With just a couple of cosmos and a dahlia or two, I can quickly pick a pretty posy for the house as well as enjoying them in the garden.
DeleteThese blooms with pink hues really sizzle in the midst of greens! Besides, they are lovely. I enjoy these pics a lot. TQ!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stephanie. I love the pink and green colour combo too.
DeletePink and lavender, it appears. I like the cosmos.
ReplyDeleteThe cosmos are wonderful. They manage to self-seed and spring up in exactly the right spots.
DeleteSexy lively pink colours all around...you still have some pretty blooms in your garden to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI loved the orchid too.
Thanks Virginia. They do bring me a lot of pleasure.
DeleteBeautiful blooms!!!! The Orchid is stunning. Happy GBBD!
ReplyDeleteHappy GBBD to you too, Kacky.
DeleteI can't believe you still have a Daylily blooming. That's just fantastic! Loved your Cosmos and Dahlias, but that fabulous Orchid stole my heart today.
ReplyDeleteThat daylily was a surprise to me. I am sure I am safe in saying that's the last of them till Spring.
DeletePostscript to my response above. Another daylily has a spike on it. Who'd a thunk it this late in the season.
