I had planned a solo trip to the famous Bogor Botanical Gardens on the weekend, but there was quite a lot of interest in the office, so six of us hired a minibus and temporarily escaped inner-city Jakarta for the nearby town of Bogor and the surrounding countryside.
We left early and had such a good run with the generally notorious Jakarta traffic that we had some time to kill before the gardens opened. It was great fun to have a wander through the chaos of Bogor's market.
They were a very friendly bunch! |
Shoe shine? |
The local butcher |
Taro |
Dried fish ... |
of every imaginable size and variety |
Lots more from Bogor next post.
I bet it was an absolute feast for the senses. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. It was hard to know where to point my camera - so much happening.
DeleteInteresting market!
ReplyDeleteAnd great produce too, Malar. Much fresher than my supermarket back home.
DeleteWonderful images - what a great place and people!
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen. It was a lot of fun.
DeleteWow, wonderful adventure. I loved the pepper picture especially. They are so photogenic!
ReplyDeleteThe peppers at least I could recognise. I'd love to have had a guide to lots of the other produce.
