Once again I am far from home for this month's Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day hosted by Carol at
May Dreams Gardens. Back home in Australia, September marks the start of Spring, and I can't help but wonder what I am missing in the garden at Casa Bella. However, I do have a lovely garden to share, especially for those like me who live in the warmer corners of the globe or who love tropical plants. These photos were taken in the grounds of the very beautiful Sofitel Hotel in Hua Hin on the coast of Thailand where I visited last month. I wasn't a guest, but I did have a lovely lunch and visit to the spa there and took advantage of the opportunity to wander.
I absolutely adore the Rangoon Creeper
Quisqualis, so I hope you will indulge excessive photographs of a beautiful subject.
And did you notice through the arch, a raised pond featuring another of my floral favourites, waterlilies. I was in seventh heaven.

Finally, you know I can't help myself ...
Beautiful photos. The topiary is amazing, but I'm like you, I just love the Quisqualis. I've wanted some for my garden for quite some time now, but have had no luck finding any just yet. It's stunning when in full bloom. The Waterlily is just so lovely too.
ReplyDeleteThe Quisqualis is gorgeous, but I can't recall having seen it for sale either. I love the arbour they have it growing over too, but sadly I doubt I have the space in any case. I will just have to enjoy other peoples for now.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place for tropical gardening! I love that exotic topiary since I've never seen one like it before. We have Rangoon Creepers here in Houston and they are one of my very favorites. Always in bloom, too.

Thanks David. The topiaries were quite amazing. Some of the shapes seemed quite abstract until I twigged what they were, though I probably haven't done them justice with my photos.
DeleteBeautiful, heartbreaking photos as always. Why heartbreaking? Because I'm not there. Although, I am on vacation right now (as we call it in the United States) and enjoying visiting historical sites in the state of Maryland. Happy belated GBBD!
